Childhood gender dysphoria is described as the distress associated with persistentinsistent and resistant identification by a child with the gender of the opposite sex.

Gender dysphoria involves a conflict between a person’s physical gender and the gender with which they identify.

Since the western cultural affirmation of gender transitionthere has been 2000increase in the number of children claiming distress over their gender referred to the UK Gender Identity Service.
